Coates earns Edit 11 honor


August 18, 2008 American Cinema Editors presented Coates the organization's career achievement award in 1995. Previous honorees include Alfred Hitchcock, Phil Tippett, Vilmos Zsigmond, Ray Harryhausen, Peter Greenaway, Dante Ferretti, Tom Rolf, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Dennis Muren, Michael Ballhaus, Terry Gilliam and Stanley Kubrick. Organization partners include American Cinema Editors and the European Federation of Cinematographers (Imago).
